Valdosta State University's Small Business Development Center is a public service unit that provides business and economic development assistance for Atkinson, Berrien, Brooks, Clinch, Coffee, Cook, Echols, Lanier, Lowndes, and Thomas Counties in South Central Georgia. As part of VSU's Harley Langdale, Jr. College of Business Administration, the SBDC is an essential resource for small businesses. Practical experience, combined with advanced education, gives our consultants the ability to apply current business theory to the challenges faced by today's entrepreneurs.

The Valdosta Small Emerging Business (VSEB) Program works to equip local small businesses with the necessary tools to effectively compete for government contracts; and to eliminate barriers and build capacity for local small businesses to conduct business with the City of Valdosta. The department coordinates and implements various small business programs to provide business opportunities and technical assistance to aid these firms in their growth and contribution to South Georgia's economy.
